Mechanical Engineer - Selectek, Inc.

We are hiring for a Mechanical Engineer in the Spartanburg, SC area. This is a full-time position, expected to go direct hire within 6 months of start date.

Starting pay is dependent on experience and education, estimated at
$80K-$115K.

Job Duties:

• Design/supervise construction mechanical aspects of pilot plants for chemical/ petrochemical industry.
• Interact with clients/customers/vendors/suppliers/fabricators
• In efforts to continually support clients, it may be required to support equipment assembly, start-up, installation, validation, and field service, as needed

Required:

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 5 years experience.
• Experience with process equipment and pressure vessel design
• Experience with stress analysis, FEA, stainless steel fabrication, piping, flow, heat transfer, instrumentation, and controls
• Knowledge of chemical processes; understanding of electrical instrumentation/automation
• Experience working with CAD/Design software  (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Codeware)
• MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Individual must be highly collaborative, very energetic, outgoing and be able to work as a team member of project teams as well as have the ability to interact with customers and various internal and external personnel 
• Experience in installing/running R&D equipment; conducting experiments

Preferred:

• EIT or PE a plus
• Knowledge of ASME Sec 8 Div 1 (pressure vessels) and PED codes is highly preferred 
• Experience with oversight of design/drafter activities
• Experience in production a plus
• Strong project management/leadership/communication skills.
