About the Job
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and engineering of mechanical systems for building projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for mechanical systems.
Prepare detailed engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems into building designs.
Review and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and documentation for compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on building systems design.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and engineering analysis tools.
Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience with sustainable design practices and LEED certification is a plus.
