Mechanical Engineer - ASMPT AEi, Inc.

ASMPT is a leading global supplier of hardware and software solutions for the manufacture of semiconductors and electronics.

We are seeking a talented and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering principles, expertise in 3D CAD design, and experience with product development processes. This role will involve designing, analyzing, testing, and optimizing mechanical components and systems to meet project specifications and performance goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and design mechanical systems, components, and products using CAD software SolidWorks and Draftsight software.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, electrical, optical, and software engineering, to ensure design feasibility and functionality.
• Create and maintain detailed technical drawings, models, and specifications, in keeping with ISO 9001 & 14001 standards.
• Regularly complete necessary/applicable analysis for mechanisms, statistical analysis quantifying performance, stress simulations and stress analyses to validate designs and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical insights and recommendations.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with precision mechanism and sub system design.

Skills:

• Proficiency in SolidWorks, 10k+ hours ideally
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and GD&T
• Experience with simulation tools (SolidWorks Simulation, Zemax) is a plus
• Familiarity with industry standards ISO 9001 & 14001, Reach, RoHS, Conflict Minerals
• Strong attention to detail, and comprehensive GD&T knowledge and application experience
• Experience with ECO processes and approval cycles
• Expertise in rapid prototyping
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred:

• Experience with CRM management (ideally Zendesk) software
• Hands-on prototyping or fabrication experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Zemax is a bonus
