About the Job
Meta is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Accelerator Design Team. Our custom AI accelerators are leading the industry in capability and performance for AI workloads. This person will be an integral member of the team, responsible for owning the mechanical design and optimization for new accelerator module and ASIC packages.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:
- Engage with the Hardware Design team to ensure proper component design and with the Data Center Operations team to ensure smooth product deployment.
- Validate product performance against requirements from many internal customers using design and simulation tools.
- Perform part and assembly level tolerance analysis, motion and performance studies.
- Specification, design, prototyping and testing of module products for Meta's custom AI ASICs
- Create test plans, design test equipment and undertake testing procedures to verify design performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience designing and shipping commercial products.
- Experience with 3D CAD software such as Creo or SolidWorks.
- Experience with analyzing and resolving issues cross functionally.
- Communication and documentation experience.
- Experience optimizing product designs using FEA and CFD for shock and vibe, thermal and certification performance.
- End-to-end experience from concept creation to deployment of a product.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience designing and shipping data center system equipment.
- End-to-end experience as lead designer from concept creation to deployment of a product.
- Experience with production designs for custom ASICs
- Experienced with a variety of electronic interconnection types and their various performance pros and cons.
- Experience designing plastic, die cast, extrusion and machined parts.
- Masters or PhD in mechanical or mechatronic engineering
