Mechanical Engineer Intern - Job Overview:
Applied Concepts has been known for its exceptional law enforcement Radar & Lidar systems for over 47 years. We're based in Richardson, TX, less than 3 miles from the UTD campus. Our team is looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineering intern to join us for January 2025 and beyond.
We are looking for one intern (with flexible start dates); hours are negotiable in advance. This internship requires onsite availability.
The compensation for this internship is $20-$25 per hour, based on skill set and education level. (No relocation assistance is possible for out-of-area candidates).

As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for designing, developing, prototyping, and testing various mechanical parts and projects. Mechanical Engineer Intern - What You Need to Succeed:
- Pursuing Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience using at least one 3D CAD software, preferably Solidworks.
- Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Added bonus if you have:
- Experience in Solidworks simulation add-ons, or other simulation software.
- Experience with 3D printing.
- Knowledge of designing for different manufacturing processes and material types.
Mechanical Engineer Intern - What You'll Be Doing:
- Collaborate with other teams and design fixtures to aid in the manufacturing of products.
- Transfer parts in older CAD software into Solidworks.
- Create drawings for parts and assemblies in Solidworks.
