HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
The Engineering Intern assists engineers in the following: Prototype Fabrication, Assembly, Testing, create SolidWorks Models and Process ECN’s (Engineering Change Notices).
- Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and mechanical drawings.
- Conceptualize and produce layouts or designs in SolidWorks.
- Ensure designs meet or exceed company standards for safety, performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, quality, geometric analysis.
- Integrate engineering changes with MRP and production control (ECN’s).
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of test and design reports.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:
- Currently working towards obtaining a BSME or BSMET.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, drills, saws, wrenches, grinders, hammers, and jacks.
- Ability to communicate effectively on complex abstract issues, contracts and specifications with vendors, technical issues with customers and other employees.
- Ability to apply concepts of probability, statistical inference, trigonometry, algebra, and geometry.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions on a variety of technical problems.
- A “hands-on” mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to wear required PPE.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL ENVIRONMENT:
- This job alternates between an office and shop floor.
- While on the shop floor, employee will be exposed to moving equipment, fumes, loud noise, and fluctuating temperatures.
- Fast paced continuously changing environment.
