We are currently searching for Mechanical Engineers with broad experience, including design and construction of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and HVAC systems, to join our diverse team of forensic experts in Houston, Texas.
Day-to-day activities focus on cause and origin investigations, offering a flexible schedule, and facilitating opportunities to deep dive and grow as a subject matter expert. The qualified candidate has a command over core engineering principles and utilizes collected field data to drive analysis and scientific determinations. The position provides exposure to our diverse client base and an extensive breadth of project types that contrast in magnitude, duration, and complexity. Successful candidates must be proficient with technical oral and written communication, be able to defend and support conclusions, and have a Professional Engineering (P.E.) License.

Responsibilities:In this position you will apply your technical knowledge to help assess and determine the origin and cause of complex and unique problems for our clients. Experience including MEP design, products and appliances, fire suppression systems, fuel distribution, residential and commercial HVAC and accident reconstruction or motor vehicle background is valuable. You will investigate equipment, pipe, product and appliance, material, and equipment and system failures. The position provides autonomy and will occasionally require working as part of a team, with other engineering disciplines, to determine the root cause of a failure or other performance related issue. You will perform timely inspections, accurate analysis, prepare reports, and present your findings in written and verbal format to the client and other interested parties. You must be able to manage several projects simultaneously and be detail orientated. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential. Report writing skills are essential. An intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office platforms is essential. The ability to type with accuracy and reasonable speed is required.
Qualifications:- BS Mechanical Engineer with 7+ years of experience.
- Professional Engineering, P.E., license by testing with the ability to become licensed in additional states (NCEES preferred).
- A valid driver’s license is a must.
- Must be outgoing and able to interact with staff, clients, and home/business owners.
- Must be able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
- You must possess excellent verbal communication skills and technical writing abilities.
- Travel in and out of state on assignments or to respond to catastrophic events may be required.
- Must possess an open attitude and willingness to learn and develop skills as a forensic engineer.
- Physical ability to perform all the following functions is required: Climb ladders, walk on roofs, enter and work in confined spaces, if applicable. Shovel fire debris, move furniture, and other household/ commercial items, if applicable. Operate lifts. Work outdoors in hot or cold weather. Lift up to 50 pounds. Use necessary safety equipment.
- Perform duties that may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, or squatting for prolonged periods of time.
