As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be required to work closely with the manufacturing and construction team in sanitary equipment design, layouts, optimizing processes, HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical piping systems, sanitary piping systems, managing time and costs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and conducting risk assessments.
This role requires specialized knowledge and experience in sanitary mechanical design, total productive maintenance, and equipment design. This candidate should be interested in developing further skills in technology transfer, sanitary design and controls, process design, and industry-specific knowledge, particularly in beverages.
Excellent communication skills and teamwork are a must for this role as well as a flexible and proactive approach to ensure the needs of the business are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete repairs and breakdowns in a timely manner and perform RCA's (Root Cause Analysis) to ensure corrective and preventative actions are completed
- Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping
- Comply with all company Health & Safety rules and be able to escalate issues when required
- Work closely with the Engineering Manager and the Manufacturing Managers
- Be part of an Engineering team dedicated to providing a world class service
- Be confident to communicate effectively and have the initiative to take the lead when required
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices
- Comply with all existing SWPs and contribute to the continuous improvement of SWPs
About You:
Essential Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent I.T Skills
- Ideally field qualified time served experience and excellent practical knowledge gained in a similar food manufacturing setting.
- Minimum 3 years', hands on post qualification experience.
- A methodical approach to fault finding.
- Conversant with Federal & State Safety rules, regulations and best practices.
- Ability to priorities workload and concisely record information.
- Knowledge of PLC's, pneumatics and hydraulics.
