In this role, you will contribute to energy resilience, energy auditing, retro-commissioning, and other energy projects for a variety of clients. As part of our team, you’ll conduct energy and water resilience studies; evaluate HVAC and plumbing equipment, EMCS/DDC systems, lighting, power, and other energy-related systems to recommend advanced control strategies; identify energy conservation opportunities; and support the implementation of projects, initiatives, and programs aimed at improving energy and water resilience, reducing energy consumption and demand, cutting costs, and benefiting the environment.

Job Details
In this role, you will contribute to energy resilience, energy auditing, retro-commissioning, and other energy projects for a variety of clients. As part of our team, you’ll conduct energy and water resilience studies; evaluate HVAC and plumbing equipment, EMCS/DDC systems, lighting, power, and other energy-related systems to recommend advanced control strategies; identify energy conservation opportunities; and support the implementation of projects, initiatives, and programs aimed at improving energy and water resilience, reducing energy consumption and demand, cutting costs, and benefiting the environment.
Your work will include a mix of office responsibilities and regular field visits to client sites. Key tasks include:
- Assessing thermal resilience and developing strategies to enhance thermal performance in both hot and cold climates
- Evaluating water and wastewater infrastructure and identifying ways to strengthen resilience
- Determining thermal requirements and exploring alternative solutions to meet heating and cooling needs at various sites
- Developing energy conservation measures and efficiency improvements for facilities
- Estimating energy savings through building energy modeling and engineering calculations
- Performing cost and payback analyses for proposed initiatives
- Maintaining accurate and detailed project records, including data, documentation, and reports
- Producing technical reports or contributing to sections of technical reports, often under tight deadlines
- Analyzing energy and utility data
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- At least 5+ years of experience in mechanical or energy engineering with experience in management consulting
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in energy or water resilience, energy consulting, energy auditing, commissioning, or retro-commissioning engineering
- Strong background in HVAC and/or controls
- Expertise in investigating HVAC equipment and EMCS/DDC systems to recommend and implement advanced control strategies
- Knowledge of utility information systems, energy and water management technologies, and metering
- Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate inclusively with team members
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach
- Ability to produce accurate, high-quality technical work, including reports, white papers, metrics, and briefs
- Proficient in computer skills, especially in MS Excel and other database applications
