Mechanical Engineer
Location: Durham, NC
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $35.00/hour

A-Line Staffing is now hiring for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Durham, NC . This role involves the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of pharmacy automation equipment. The successful candidate will focus on supporting product operations, ensuring consistent part sourcing, and participating in new product development as well as sustaining activities for existing product lines.

Position Overview:

As a Mechanical Engineer , you will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of automation equipment. You will collaborate with the procurement team, assist in product design and development, and work closely with other engineers and vendors to develop prototypes and solutions.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive pay at $35.00/hour .
• Monday to Friday work schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (no weekends or holidays).
• Full-time, onsite position.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the procurement team to identify replacement components and release updated design files.
• Design sheet metal, plastic, and machined parts for automation equipment.
• Analyze and test designs to meet specifications, cost goals, and manufacturability requirements.
• Participate in the conceptualization of new systems related to pharmaceutical automation.
• Work closely with engineers, technicians, and vendors to develop mechanical prototypes that support other subsystems.
• Document part and system designs for sourcing, inspection, and internal use.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED .
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering .
• 2+ years of related work experience.
• SolidWorks experience preferred (classroom or work experience with solid modeling and analysis tools).
• Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially Word , Excel , and Outlook .
• Mandatory attendance for the first 90 days.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Primarily an office setting with minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
• Physical demands include repetitive motion tasks, such as typing and handling equipment, and the ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
• Visual acuity for working with computer screens and the ability to sit for extended periods.
