Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in sheet metal fabrication to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing sheet metal components and assemblies for various applications. This role requires a deep understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, materials, and design principles to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies according to project requirements, utilizing CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
Perform feasibility studies and analysis to ensure manufacturability, functionality, and cost-effectiveness of sheet metal designs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance to optimize designs for production.
Generate detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bill of materials (BOM) for sheet metal parts and assemblies.
Provide technical support to production teams during the fabrication and assembly process, resolving any design-related issues that may arise.
Continuously improve sheet metal fabrication processes, tools, and techniques to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
Conduct testing and validation of sheet metal components to verify performance, durability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in sheet metal fabrication and mechanical engineering.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on sheet metal fabrication.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other engineering tools for design and analysis.
Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, forming, welding, and finishing.
Experience in design for manufacturability (DFM) principles and familiarity with various sheet metal materials and their properties.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate conceptual ideas into practical designs.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASME, ASTM) is a plus.
Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and take on new challenges.
