About the Job
TSI is seeking a mechanical engineer with an interest in innovative research and development and a desire to create exciting new technologies. Triton's diverse set of projects will give you experience across the mechanical engineering spectrum and allow you to shine in a fast-paced environment. Platforms include advanced sensors, V-22 Osprey vertical takeoff aircraft bearings, chem-bio protection equipment, physiological status monitoring, energy harvesting, wireless power transfer, and subsea systems.
Responsibilities:
- Self-starter with the ability to recognize and creatively solve complex problems
- Design and prototyping of cutting edge mechanical systems including CAD
- Performing experiments in an independent & inventive manner
- Document project progress
Desired qualifications would include some of the following:
- Adaptability
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
- Competency using basic machine shop equipment
- Solid understanding of numerical modeling, design of experiments, and fabrication methods
- Experience conducting analysis of alternatives and technology review
- Familiar with Solidworks
- Experience with mechanism design
- Experience with medical devices is a plus
Education/Experience:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- 1-5 years experience working in design and prototype fabrication and testing is desired
