About the Job
Mechanical Engineer Key Responsibilities
• System Optimization & Analysis:
Develop and optimize mechanical systems to enhance refinery operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Equipment Maintenance:
Support the installation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, piping systems, and rotating machinery.
• Project Management:
Support CAPEX projects, commissioning, and operational phases of the refinery, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and budgets.
• Problem-Solving:
Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures, implementing preventative measures to minimize downtime.
• Innovation & Efficiency:
Identify and implement advancements to improve process performance and energy efficiency.
• Documentation:
Prepare detailed technical reports, equipment specifications, and maintenance schedules for continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field needed.
• 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical engineer experience in the petrochemical industry required, preferably in refining or heavy industrial settings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software preferred.
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings (i.e., P&ID, ISO, etc.) desired.
• Experience with rotating equipment, piping systems, and pressure vessels a plus.
• PE licensure and TWIC is a plus.
• Mechanical Engineer candidates should be located within daily commuting distance of Gramercy, LA
