Day-to-Day Duties May Include:
- Creating, revising, and archiving models and drawings of mechanical designs, based on input and guidance from engineers.
- Providing support to mechanical engineers by creating and modifying detailed mechanical drawings using SolidWorks from sketches, layouts and notes provided by engineers.
- Creating and modifying CAD models based on sketches, notes, or other instructions provided by engineers.
- Helping engineers create and process ECOs in Agile.
- Maintaining and archiving CAD data according to departmental operating procedures.
- Checking mechanical drawings created by engineers or other drafters for completeness, correctness, and conformance to standards.
- Contributing design recommendations to facilitate manufacturing or increase product quality.
- Originating new part/assembly designs, converting designs from one manufacturing process to another.
- Providing engineers and other drafters with CAD usage tips and training.
Qualifications:
- Associates of Science Degree or equivalent required.
- 5+ years experience drafting complex mechanical systems.
- Highly proficient in SolidWorks.
- Experience with Windchill and Agile or Arena.
- Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5-2018.
- Familiarity with drafting/modeling for common manufacturing processes.
