Summary:
Prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.
Typically has a high school diploma or GED.
Possesses technical skills, including knowledge of design techniques and blueprint reading.
Exercises independent judgment with little to no direction from the supervisor

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Review and approve detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment
Instruct staff to design, Client out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems
Review and approve mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment.
Review and approve dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials.
Approve schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines
Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems Review and analyse specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed
Act as subject matter expert to clients review schematics and answer questions about the installation of systems.
Must have
minimum 5-8 years CREO 7 (or higher) Schematic/Cabling experience.
Windchill experience is also required.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
8-10 years experience required.
