Selectek has an immediate need for a Mechanical Designer/Engineer with Heavy Industrial experience to join our team in Kennesaw, GA
Required:
Required:
- Associate of Applied Science Degree in Drafting Design, Drafting Certification, or relative design experience
A minimum of 2-10 years for a Mechanical Designer in a heavy industrial setting
Demonstrated ability to carry a project from conception to construction
Proficient with Autodesk Advance Steel, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, and Bluebeam (Revu) is preferred - ANY 3D is acceptable
Experience with Revit a plus
Knowledge of ASME design codes
Ability to manage, plan, organize, and prioritize the workload of assigned tasks
Experience collaborating with 3rd party (non-USA) contractors preferred
Self-motivated with keen attention to detail understanding fundamental design and drafting standards
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Specific experience working for an EPC firm involved in steam and power projects would be a PLUS
- Job Details:
Collaborate with engineers and designers to determine the design scope and modeling activities adhering to the BIM Execution Plan
Provide design expertise working with piping and instrument diagrams, drafting sketches for 2D, or modeling of 3D equipment for some of the following: pumps, material handling systems, ash handling systems, boilers, heat exchangers, air pollution control equipment, water treatment, compressed air systems, turbine generators, and piping systems
Review the contract scope documents, codes, and permits to ensure compliance
Review mechanical bid packages for compliance
Prepare and design complex 2D and 3D large assembly mechanical production drawings to facilitate cost-effective construction
Review discipline drawings for conflicts and provide practical solutions for construction-related issues
Review weekly project schedules to ensure that deadlines are met
Attend weekly PM meetings to review design progress and to establish the working agenda for the next week
Travel to the project site as needed throughout the duration of the project

- $55,000- $95,000
- Monday- Thursday
- 7 AM- 5 PM or 8 AM- 6 PM
- ½ day on Friday
- 6 Month Temp to Perm
