About the Job
As a Mechanical 3D Modeling Designer, you will be responsible for developing detailed mechanical designs for HVAC equipment using AutoCAD Inventor. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating comprehensive 3D models that accurately represent our HVAC units, ensuring seamless fabrication and installation processes. Additionally, you will collaborate with existing Designers to resolve design issues, review and incorporate feedback, and compute mathematical formulas to optimize ductwork based on airflow requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed 3D models and mechanical designs for HVAC equipment using AutoCAD Inventor.
• Coordinate with existing Designers to resolve design issues and incorporate feedback.
• Compute mathematical formulas to optimize ductwork routing and sizing based on airflow requirements.
• Create and maintain a Bill of Materials for each project.
• Draw detailed ductwork and accessories, ensuring accuracy and precision.
• Consult technical handbooks and tables during the design phase.
• Store and manage drawings electronically using Vault.
• Prepare variations of designs as needed.
• Effectively communicate design concepts to manufacturers and customers.
Qualifications Required:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Inventor.
• Understanding of HVAC equipment assembly and components.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read architectural and mechanical drawings, with a basic understanding of electrical and mechanical control systems.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Experience in selecting compressors, coils, fans, etc. for HVAC equipment is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (< 5%).
