We’re seeking to expand our capacity by adding an additional Mechanical Design Engineer I to our Product Development team located in Williston, Vermont.  The Williston office is a R&D-focused environment supporting our international manufacturing sites with new product developments.

Responsibilities

• Generate design concepts, diagrams, layouts, detail, and assembly drawings
• Calculate appropriate dimensions and tolerances
• Review and modify designs for efficient manufacturability
• CAD & Bill of Materials creation and maintenance with SolidWorks & SAP
• Qualify designs through empirical testing
• Support prototype builds and functional tests
• Work within the requirements of internal product development processes including participation in design/project reviews
• Work and coordinate with SUSS colleagues around the world

• A.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant technical degree)
• One (plus) years of design engineering
• Fundamental knowledge of electro-mechanical systems (pneumatics a plus)
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and finishes
• Knowledge of geometric tolerancing (GD&T) and ANSI Y.14 standards (ISO a plus)
• Proficient in the use of 3D CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks
• Experience with ERP and PLM systems for document, material, BOM and revisions a plus
• Domestic and international travel up to 10%
