Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Boston Incubation Center, a growing organization focused on transforming cutting-edge medical research into meaningful medical devices. This role is essential to the development of an innovative medical imaging device, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams and meticulous design, documentation, and verification processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to capture design outputs for a novel medical device.
• Develop and manage documentation, including CAD models, fabrication drawings, procedures, BOMs, and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS) in all documentation.

Deliverables:

• Accurate 3D CAD models of complex medical devices.
• Detailed and precise fabrication drawings for medical device components.
• Comprehensive specification documents and BOMs.
• Proper management of all documents within the QMS.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience drafting machined, casted, sheet metal, or plastic molded components.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for modeling complex 3D systems and drafting components.
• Strong understanding of GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience generating and managing BOM structures, ECRs, and documentation through a QMS.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with mechanical design for medical devices.
• Familiarity with cable drawings.

Additional Notes:
This role offers a hybrid schedule with three in-office days and two remote days per week. Candidates must have prior experience in mechanical design for medical devices.
