About the Job
Selectek has an immediate need for a Mechanical Design Engineer interested in a career in the heavy industrial field. The engineer will be responsible for the creation, storage, and dissemination all of documentation related to proprietary equipment which is integral to the heavy industrial technologies business unit. The Mechanical Engineer reports directly to the Manager of the Equipment Design group. This person should possess strong interpersonal skills and be capable of working well within groups both internal and external to the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In the beginning, they will give them engineering drawings and ask them to complete the 3D modeling of the drawing with Inventor in order to learn their standards. Once they feel comfortable with that, they will work in AutoCAD to replicate existing drawings. After they learn their standards and product catalog, then they will let them loose to create drawings and part lists while collaborating with customers, fabrication shops, and job sites in order to complete the drawings and parts list correctly.

Pay range: $29/hour - $35/hour depending on experience ($62,000 - $73,000 annual salary)
Term of assignment: 6 - 12 months temp to perm
Pay method when direct: Salary no OT
Location of job: Atlanta, GA 30339
Hours and shift: Monday - Friday 8AM-5PM - flex start time available
Work from home: Not in the beginning, especially for new engineers; they will want them in the office for 6-12 months to learn and then they may offer a day or two work from home
Working remote: No
Overtime expected: Occasionally, but no on a regular basis
Travel: None
Work attire: Business Casual

- Generate detail drawings and parts lists for equipment fabrication
- Develop general arrangement drawings for proprietary equipment
- Develop new products as well as expand existing product lines through the use of advanced 3-dimensional modeling software
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations and Purchase Requisitions
- Preform Technical Reviews of vendor designed components that interface with proprietary Equipment
- Inspect fabricated components for conformity to corporate quality standards
- Meet with clients and suppliers to discuss technical matters
- Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering open to entry level to five years
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- 3D CAD Software experience
