Mechanical Assembler Job Description
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years’ experience in mechanical machine assembly work. A strong mechanical aptitude, great organizational skills, and proficiency reading blueprints are essential for this position. This position reports directly to the Assembly Lead.
Mechanical Assembler Job Responsibilities
- Assemble simple to complex mechanical assemblies per specification by interpreting blueprints and drawings while following manufacturing processes and procedures
- Identify the necessary tooling and equipment to perform assigned operation
- Inspect parts, as necessary using the proper measuring tools, micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Lead and instruct others in proper assembly of various mechanical assemblies
- Maintain proper project documentation
- Responsible for all duties required for tear down and crating of equipment for shipment
- Maintain a photo/video library of all builds in an organized manner
- Track day to day added value operations needed internally
- Operate a tow motor on a as need to basis, operate and overhead crane as need be
- Assist in maintaining the highest quality of product
- Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed
Desired Skills & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two years of machinery assembly experience
- Advanced ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and specifications
- Intermediate math skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with a sense of urgency
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Well organized with an aptitude for details
- Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment
- Experience with using different types of pneumatic, electrical, and hand tools
- Able to stand or walk for the majority of the day and be able to lift 40lbs on a needed basis and up to 75 pounds with assistance
- Able to regularly apply physical mobility (stretching, lifting, bending, twisting, etc.) to perform all assembly related assignments
- Machining and electrical experience and knowledge is a plus
