We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler III to join our manufacturing team. This role requires advanced skills in machinery operation, blueprint interpretation, and assembly processes. Key Responsibilities
- Assembly and Machinery Operation:
- Set up and operate various machinery, including presses, mills, lathes, gang drills, shears, brakes, saws, and grinders, to produce parts within tight tolerances.
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to ensure products meet specifications.
- Select appropriate hand and power tools for assembly and operate them efficiently.
- Determine efficient methods and sequences for completing assemblies without supervision.
- Inspection and Quality Control:
- Use inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers to ensure the quality of completed work.
- Inspect own work and that of junior assemblers to meet quality standards.
- Document and maintain inspection records.
- Maintenance and Safety:
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance and safety checks.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, addressing hazards such as spills or debris.
- Operational Support:
- Complete required daily time sheets and work orders, aiming to maintain a labor efficiency rate of 85%.
- Package finished products using banding equipment, stretch wrap, and nail guns.
- Perform paint touch-ups on assembled products as needed.
- Mentorship and Teamwork:
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members (Mechanical Assemblers I and II).
- Assist with machinery setup for other employees.
- Foster a collaborative and respectful work environment.
- Other Duties:
- Aid in creating and refining manufacturing processes.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or technical trade school certification.
- Experience:
- 5+ years in a manufacturing assembly environment.
- 5+ years of experience setting up and operating various machinery.
- 5+ years of experience using precision inspection tools.
- Certifications: Tow motor certification preferred.
Key Skills
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing machinery and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and guide others.
- Familiarity with safety and maintenance protocols.
