MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER

Summary:
To read detailed instructions and provide assembly of industrial equipment and machinery composed of several components using hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound products. Submits to Quality for inspection.

Responsibilities:

• Reads and comprehends instructions and follow established procedures.
• Collects all material and equipment required to begin the process.
• Takes precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components.
• Selects or modifies components according to measurements and specifications.
• Aligns material and puts together parts to build more complex units.
• Checks output to ensure highest quality.
• Maintains equipment in good condition.
• Keeps records of production quantities and time.
• Reports on issues, deviations, malfunctions or defective parts.
• Must observe all safety rules and regulations as they pertain to own job, work area and overall environment.
• Follows instructions, responds to management direction. Asks for and offers help when needed.
• Other duties as assigned/needed.

• Maintains equipment in good condition.
• Keeps records of production quantities and time.
• High school diploma/GED required, degree from technical school highly preferred, with 3 years’ experience in mechanical assembly desired.
• Must be mechanically inclined –good intuition, strong dexterity, excellent hand-eye coordination and experience with hand tools and basic power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings, and follow directions required.
• Familiarity with use of measuring instruments highly preferred.
• Must be highly organized and attentive to detail, with ability to work under time constraints.
• Good understanding of quality principles and math.
• Must be able to lift - up to 100 Lbs.
