About the Job
Skilled Laborer in maintenance, welding, and repair work on automotive and other power driven equipment, including trucks and heavy equipment, certain mechanical and electrical equipment; related work as required.
Operated drills, cutting torches, sanders, cars, pickup trucks, dump trucks, mowing machinery, tractors, snow blowers, brush chippers, front end loaders, spray painters, compressors, power tools, jackhammers, brush clippers, chainsaws. welding machines, crack sealer, ditch witch, table saw, hand tools, telephone, copy machine, calculator, and various other pieces of equipment related to the position duties. Disassembles and assembles internal combustion engines, tunes and adjusts engines and motors, repairs electrical systems, repairs hydraulic and pneumatic systems, repairs crash-rescue vehicles, fabricates parts as needed, and performs welding as needed. Ability to manage a vehicle fleet, including scheduling vehicle inspections and maintenance, and maintaining the associated records.
Has frequent contact with salespeople and tenants requiring tact and good oral and written communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma with additional coursework in mechanical and automotive repair work, five years experience in mechanical and automotive repair.
CDL Class B License, Class C Hydraulic Hoisting License, Capable of passing TSA Security background check as a prerequisite to working in highly sensitive areas.
Additional Qualifications:
Working knowledge of welding tools, equipment and procedures used in automotive equipment repair and overhaul. Familiar with airport equipment including but not limited to Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF), aviation fuel vehicles, and snow removal equipment.
Ability to manage a vehicle fleet, including scheduling vehicle inspections and maintenance and maintaining the associated records.
