Mechanic Systems Mechanic I - University Hospital, Newark NJ

 The primary purpose of the Mechanical Systems Mechanic I position is to perform a variety of maintenance repairs and installation/replacement of machinery, mechanical equipment and systems, and when assigned to shifts, responded and takes action on all skilled trade calls. Assists in the work direction of other mechanics, trades helpers, and mechanics of other skilled trades.

Technical school diploma or an equivalent level of knowledge required. Five (5) years of experience in the operation, maintenance and installation of mechanical systems/equipment in an industrial, education, and/or health care setting. Sound knowledge of blue print and schematic reading is required, as is thorough knowledge of all applicable (local, state and national) codes. CFC Certification, Blue Seal Refrigerant, or New Jersey Black Seal High Pressure Engineer’s License is preferred. Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
