SUMMARY
Responsible maintenance on all equipment in the Pressroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and electrical repairs, as required.
- Work with electronic technician on major electrical repairs.
- Perform major and minor mechanical troubleshooting, as required. Dismantle machinery and perform repairs.
- Conduct all major overhauling, as required. Modify or fabricate parts.
- Provide assistance to less experienced mechanics during training.
- Promote and maintain safety procedures.
- Maintains tools and parts inventory procedures. Order parts when needed.
- Assist in decisions regarding equipment purchases, modifications, parts, etc.
- Keep current and advise regarding new technologies in the field.
- Perform other department operations as required.
- Keep immediate work area neat and orderly.
- Comply with company rules and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
- Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.
- Keep manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
- Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Technical education on machine maintenance.
- 5 -10 years of industrial repair experience
COMPETENCIES
- Thorough understanding of Manufacturing equipment repair operations.
- Knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, and printing/bindery equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot.
- Good math skills
- Reliability through attendance, punctuality and attention to work station
