Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Vermeer Fleet Mechanic to join our team in the utilities industry. As a Fleet Journeyman Mechanic, you will be responsible for major overhauling of our Vermeer PD10 soler pile driving units while maintaining and repairing specialized heavy utility equipment full time. This will include Undercarriage, Engine, Electrical, Hydraulic, Boom repairs on PD10. This is a vital role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet, as well as the continuity of essential services provided to our customers.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements, to keep vehicles in optimal condition.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs, such as brake replacements, engine overhauls, and transmission repairs.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of fleet vehicles to identify potential problems and safety hazards.
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used and time spent on each job.
- Collaborate with fleet managers and other team members to schedule maintenance and prioritize repairs.
- Continuously update knowledge of industry advancements and technological developments in order to effectively repair and maintain modern vehicle systems.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vermeer experience required
- ASE certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance or a similar role
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools, such as scanners and computer software, to identify and resolve issues.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with maintenance software
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Pay Equity
$36 - $40 Hour

This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule.
