o Full Time on site
o Hybrid 2 days remote / 3 days on site
o Full Time Condensed work week (work longer hours 4 days with one day off)
Seeking experienced RN, open to provide training on MDS.
Job Summary
Responsible for accurate and thorough completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS), in accordance with the current federal and state regulations and guidelines, Sarah Neuman (SRN) policies and procedures and good standards of practice. Assists the Director of Clinical Reimbursement with the effective and efficient operation of RAUM Department and covers the Director of Clinical Reimbursement in his/her absence. Utilizes critical thinking and collaborates with other members of the interdisciplinary team to capture the right CMI which reflects the care and services provided.
Job Duties (include but not limited to):
- Ensures appropriate scheduling and completion of the MDS required for compliance with OBRA regulations and as required by the insurance, in accordance with the current federal and state regulations and guidelines.
- Ensures that documentation supports the coding of the items in the MDS.
- Demonstrates understanding of MDS requirements related to various payers including Medicare, Managed Care, Commercial Plans and Medicaid.
- Ensures that documentation supports Medicare eligibility and documentation optimizes reimbursement, compliance with documents required for Medicare coverage: Medicare Certification and Recertification, Medicare documentation, issuance of NOMNC on a timely manner.
- Demonstrates ability to conduct huddles with other members of the interdisciplinary team to all residents admitted/readmitted under Medicare A coverage.
- Utilizes critical thinking skills and collaborates with rehab and nursing to capture the Medicaid case mix which reflects the care and services provided.
