Title: Maternal And Child Care CoordinatorLocation: 2 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46204Interview:- WebcamPurpose of Position/Summary: The Newborn Screening (NBS) Program Administratorserves the Newborn Screening Program and Early Hearing Detection andIntervention (EHDI) Program within the division of Maternal and Child Health.The role of the NBS Administrator is to perform functions that support the dailyoperations of the NBS and EHDI programs. This role collaborates directly withthe Newborn Screening Program Manager, NBS Program staff, birthing facilitystaff, laboratory staff, midwives, and families across Indiana.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:The core duties of this position are to support the Newborn Screening Programthrough daily office administration. The NBS Administrator will serve as aninitial point of contact to the public, health care providers, and hospitalstaff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the followingactivities:-Maintain daily office administrative tasks including managing the team phone,fax lines and shared email inbox.-Assist healthcare providers and reporters in gaining access to web-basedapplications and troubleshoot any issues in accessing the application or any ofits features, including EARS and Instep.-Upload all laboratory reports, refusals, and diagnostic information to theappropriate child health information profile in the web-based applications.-Fax all newborn screening result requests to the requestor.-Track all required hospital reporting for newborn screening-Organize, file, and retain all consent cards according to state recordretention policies.-Develop and publish the quarterly Genomics and Newborn Screening programnewsletter.-Maintain the NBS and EHDI program webpages.-Utilize an online listserv platform to distribute messages to Genomics andNewborn Screening partners.-Maintain shared list of presentation and exhibits for GNBS and EHDI includingprocessing registrations, invoices, payments, requesting and confirming staffattendance and ensuring materials are available to staff attending meetings.-Attend community outreach events on behalf of the program as needed.-Mail education materials, letters, or other required correspondence.-Adhere to all state and federal regulations (HIPAA) related to the NBS program.-Support the NBS Program by conducting other duties as assigned.Job Requirements:Individual will hold at a minimum, an associate degree in health sciences,nursing, or closely related field. Experience with database systems andweb-based applications is required. Proficient skills with Microsoft Word,Excel, PowerPoint, etc. is required. A background in healthcare, along withexperience working with hospital staff is ideal, but not required. Excellentverbal and written communication skills are required. Strong organization skillsand time management are necessary to be successful in this role.Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:There are no supervisory responsibilities to this position.Difficulty of Work:The work is broad in scope often requiring strong problem solving and criticalthinking skills.Responsibility:Individual will display initiative in performing job duties and achievingprogram goals and objectives in a timely manner. Individual will perform jobtasks within the policies and budget of the department and program.Personal Work Relationships:Individual will work with IDOH staff, genetic counselors, geneticists, otherhealth care providers, laboratory personnel, hospital staff, and the public.Physical Effort:This position does not require extensive physical effort.
