Hours: 8:00AM- 4:30PM (1st Shift)
Location: McCook, IL
Summary: Supervise and coordinate activities of workers concerned with processing sales orders for domestic and international shipments; and the receiving and processing of sales orders for shipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinates the timely release, pick, invoice, and track functions of sales order line items. Prepares all necessary documentation for the efficient movement of international shipments through the Materials group.
- Create and analyze Available to Ship reports and authorize release of finished goods from stockroom.
- Review Hold codes and investigate internally what needs to be done to remove the Hold.
- Act as a liaison between Sales, Accounting, Planning and Materials departments.
- Prepare necessary documentation for international shipments such as export documentation, invoicing and packing slips.
- Coordinate transportation for international shipping, scheduling pick-ups.
- Complete data entry of order number and tracking numbers into company Enterprise system.
- Coordinate with Production Planning out of sequence releases and substitutions.
- Comply with all special handling requirements as specified.
- Document packages accurately and/or label as required for each shipment.
- Provide shipping status to internal departments as needed.
- Participate in physical inventories as needed.
- Perform special projects for Material Control Manager as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervise 5 -9 associates in the Materials group. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
The successful Materials Supervisor candidate will possess:
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or
four to five years related experience and/or training.
Two years related experience (International Shipping preferred)
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
