About the Job
The primary purpose of the Material Services Support Supervisor is to supervise all activities associated with the receipt, storage, distribution, sampling and record keeping of materials in the warehouse. This includes planning & scheduling the workload of Material Coordinators and / or coordinating activities with sampling and warehouse personnel at 3rd party storage facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensure materials are transported, received, and sample properly
- Coordinate sampling schedule and oversee sampling events including 3rd party warehouse
- Ensures product is shipped according to SOP and is aligned with Quality and cGMP standards
- Monitor and conducts training, communication training deficiencies
- Oversee department ensuring all cGMP operations are being followed and meeting all Quality requirements
- Oversee investigations, deviations and change controls for the department
- Participate in routine practices and team projects relating to TPM, 5S, Lean Six Sigma, Change Control, Change Over, Safety, Quality, etc.
- Perform SAP transaction to maintain inventory control
- Establish highly accurate inventory records through cycle counting
- Maintain shelf life and lot controls in addition to overseeing the disposal of expired, rejected and damage material
- Communicate with other site plant personnel, area supervisors and departments as needed
- Provide oversight of the Material Control Coordinators and staff
- Assist with scheduling of work for production;
- Safeguard against injury to him/herself and all adjacent personnel;
- Liaise and coordinate with 3rd party warehouses to achieve Operations’ objectives related to Materials Management.
- Delegate for Material Services Manager.
- Assure proper labeling, handling, and storage of all chemicals used in the area; assure proper labeling and accumulation of hazardous waste in satellite areas; adhere to all safety requirements and follow safe procedures, immediately notifying management or Safety when unsafe conditions or potential hazards are found; attend all required safety and health training, including handling hazardous waste, when necessary.
All material will be received within the working day, with deviations promptly reported to the Materials Manager. The highest possible housekeeping standards will be maintained at all times and in all areas assigned. Responsible for receipt & distribution of compressed gas cylinder at the manufacturing sites.The cold storage units must be carefully monitored to prevent thawing of the contents. Warehouse storage areas will be locked at all times to prevent unauthorized access. Only personnel escorted by the associate will be allowed inside the storage areas. Other duties will be performed as deemed necessary by the Material Services Manager.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor Degree with a focus in business, engineering or logistics.
- 5+ years’ experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
- 5+ year’s progressive experience as QA material supervisor, logistics coordinator, and/or senior material coordinator
- Experience in ERP systems, SAP, Trackwise, LIMS is a plus
- Aseptic Processing Certificate is a plus
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
- instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
- written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Word processing, spreadsheets, internet software, inventory management, manufacturing software, order processing, database software, e-mail, internet software.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees in the Warehouse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; explosives; risk of radiation; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
