Job Purpose:Supports manufacturing efficiency by planning, determining, and controlling materials requirements; maintaining inventory database.Duties: * Accomplishes materials human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures. * Meets operational standards by contributing materials management information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying materials management system improvements. * Meets materials budget by monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions. * Maintains materials control system by scheduling and tracking materials through purchasing, receiving, material handling, raw materials and finished goods inventories, and shipping; developing warehouse layouts. * Controls materials by studying inventory and service-level targets, and manufacturing schedules; conferring with product teams; developing inventory plans; identifying inventory priorities; monitoring inventory levels, lead times, lot sizes, and fill rates; evaluating planned and proposed material/process changes; identifying and resolving problems; developing solutions for launch projects. * Maintains inventory database by ensuring accurate entry and updating of receiving, inventory, and shipping data. * Prepares inventory reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends. * Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications. * Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Skills/Qualifications:Supply Management, Manufacturing Experience, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Supervision, Delegation, Foster Teamwork, Database Management, Analyzing Information , Decision Making, Verbal Communication, Automotive Manufacturing.
