Overview:Oversees and coordinates the scheduling, purchasing and warehousing functions within the plant. Accountable to develop and monitor KPIs to drive performance and accountability of inventory accuracy of all materials and supplies for plant operations, scheduling accuracy and ensuring that the production facilities' warehouses conform to and develop T. Marzetti best in class standards. Monitors daily responsibilities of the purchasing, scheduling and warehousing departments.
Responsibilities:•Develop, implement and maintain T. Marzetti best practices for procurement, inventory control, warehousing, shipping and receiving.
•Recommend changes in basic structure and organization of the materials groups to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives assigned and provide the flexibility to move swiftly in relation to supply chain problems and opportunities.
•Plan for and communicate anticipated changes in inventory levels due to customer changes, seasonal fluctuations, and/or product transfers.
•Pro-actively manage actions and projects to minimize all Supply Chain costs and prepare regular updates.
•Ensure that detailed operating plans and schedules conform to releases to ensure 100% on-time delivery.
•Manage weekly cycle count activities to ensure inventory accuracy/accountability.
•Manage the physical inventory process within the plants.
•Minimize part obsolescence, coordinate the sale of surplus materials and/or scrap; provide required documentation for same.
•Control all inventories within budget level and coordinate actions to continuously minimize levels.
•Develops skills of the plant purchasing departments.
•Assumes duties and responsibilities of Plant Manager as needed / required.
•Utilize web-based tools, technologies and hands-on involvement with plant teams to ensure data accuracy
•Work directly with centralized procurement teams to ensure the right levels of inventory and ultimately that the plant operates effectively with cost-effective materials levels
•Manage the Buyer, Warehousing and Scheduling roles within the plant.
•Promotes integrity, respect, accountability,continuous improvement and positive interactions with all Team Members, customers & vendors.
•Ensures data accuracy and control of all raw materials.
•Partners closely with Procurement teams to ensure appropriate market pricing, inventory levels and availability to ensure compliance to company policy and procedures.
•Monitors raw material inventories to ensure sufficient quantities exist to cover scheduled production and schedule changes to meet customer demands and emergencies.
•Contacts potential new suppliers to request periodic quotations; evaluate current market conditions and report to procurement to ensure the best pricing for the company.
•BS/BA in business Administration or related field or equivalent experience required;
•5-7 years of related leadership experience in a manufacturing environment required, within a food industry preferred.
•Experience with ERP systems, SAP experience preferred.
•Demonstrated ability to appropriately work with confidential information and situations and manage correspondence.
•Working knowledge of purchasing & inventory systems & manufacturing processes along with accurate record generation, maintaining and retention along with strong organizational, analytical and math skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft & DOS based systems.
•Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – verbally & written – to and work well with Team Members, Management, Customers & Vendors.
•Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast paced environment.
Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read and comprehend, sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap. The noise level in the plant is loud.
SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beardnets (if facial hair exists) are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards. Condition of these items must be inspected by employee daily and be replaced when no longer providing the optimal protection of the employee.
