Position: Material Coordinator
Location: 1280 Old Belt Way, Rural Hall, NC 27045
Duration: 12 months contract with higher extension possibilities
Shift time: 1st shift; M-F 7 AM EST to 4 PM EST with a 1hour lunch break.
Pay rate: $18/hr. on W2 without benefits
Job Description
The Material Coordinator role will be the onsite point of contact and owner for all things related to construction materials and inventory. The Material Coordinator is responsible for accurate completion of picking and staging construction materials daily and completing system shipping to account for job numbers and inventory accuracy. The role will work with Manager-Materials to complete cycle counts daily. The Material Coordinator will assist with loading and unloading shipments and inbound receipts and providing shortage, overage or damage information to Manager-Materials as required. The Material Coordinator will schedule freight pick-ups and complete all required documentation for bill of ladings or manifests as required.
Position is a union position and reports directly to the Manager-Materials.
Roles And Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks related to dock and stock work including picking, packing, unpacking, and shipping
- Perform tasks related to staging materials for upcoming construction projects.
- Load and unload materials from pallets, trucks or cartons to proper stock keeping locations
- Count, weigh, and verify materials as required
- Schedule and prepare documentation for outbound freight pick-up
- Handle and move material using hand trucks, electric dolly, forklift, or other devices; stack or assemble materials as needed
- May prepare records of material received, perform cycle audit counting, and assist in performance of more complex tasks
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace and perform stock location cleaning
- Maintain proper system accounting and account coding of all materials
- Maintain appropriate stocking levels of equipment/materials
- Adhere to established safety practices and procedures
- All other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of products, especially Excel, to perform daily duties
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to comprehend written materials easily
- Ability to relate with other members of staff within working environment
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to adhere to all safety precautions and procedures
- Ability to adapt promptly to any change in working condition and to get problems resolved without delay
- Self-starter-ability and willingness to move from one task to another without implicit instruction
- Ability to lift heavy materials, at times exceeding 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to work in inclement weather
- High School diploma or equivalent and 4+ years’ experience with 3+ years directly related to the job. College hours or a college degree may be substituted for some experience as deemed appropriate.
Required Education
- Minimum HS Diploma/GED
- Required Years of Experience: 1-3 years
Desired Skills
- Experience managing construction materials and inventory
- Experience working with radio-frequency devices to scan and record inventory transactions
- Experience with warehouse management software and systems
- Experience operating warehouse material handling equipment, including forklift certification
