SRG Global as an immediate need for a Material Planner in Warren, MI.The Material Planner will contribute to the overall vision, strategy, and development of our inventory management system while supporting the day-to-day execution of complex, high volume grille assembly and sequencing operations.The selected individual will work on-site at our 3rd party sequencing partner facility in Warren, MI to ensure the right parts, in the right quantity, at the right time are available.The Material Planner will own the parameters of the consumption-based replenishment pull system, utilizing re-order point, re-order quantity calculations, and trigger inventory replenishment daily. The Material Planner will also support the implementation of engineering changes while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
What You Will Do
Actively participate in a cross-functional implementation team
Work directly with Launch Engineers, Packaging Engineers, and Vendors to understand production capacity, and the total amount of packaging available to ensure inventory is properly distribute
Act as the single point of contact on issues pertaining to Inventory Management and CMS Purchasing Menus
Ensure timely communication of material requirements to vendors via EDI 830 Forecasts and 862 RANs
Perform in depth troubleshooting and system diagnostics to identify and eliminate data discrepancies
Act as the Subject Matter Expert, present the options available, pros/cons of alternatives, and recommendations
Exhibit leadership qualities by taking the initiative to identify and resolve issues and manage task delegation
Build relationships, actively communicate with, and measure the performance of third-party vendors
Work with KBX Logistics to ensure that dedicated milk run capacity and delivery frequency is optimized.
Seek knowledge from Inter-Co and 3rd Party Vendors to understand their capacity, constraints, production plan, and targeted Finished Goods Inventory Levels.Insist on Ship from Stock Strategy
Use standard Kanban Calculations based upon Demand, Safety Stock, Lead-Time, and Order Frequency
Maintain CMS IVMN02 Option #2 Item Master Settings, User Defined Fields to support calculations
Monitor Inventory utilizing COGNOS/PowerBi reports of Net Available Inventory vs. Target Levels
Investigate discrepancies between Syncreon Perpetual Inventory and SRG Global's Perpetual Inventory
Monitor the status of past due and open RANs / ASNs to ensure on-time delivery.
Urgently resolve ASN and Bill-of-Lading discrepancies including the timely communication of quality issues
Ensure the use of CMS ASN Receiving which improves inventory accuracy, increases receiving productivity
Support Inventory Accuracy by performing Cycle/Physical Inventory Counts to identify systemic issues
Coordinate Inventory to support BOM changes and new product development, minimize obsolescence
Collaborate with suppliers to identify and investigate Past Due and Quality concerns, issue SCARS (8D's) as necessary to resolve issues
Ensure and promote compliance to EH&S and Company procurement policies and procedures
Provide off-hours support will be required as business needs dictate, this will include evenings, late night, and weekend work from time to time

Demonstrate principled Entrepreneurship and review tasks on a regular basis to determine if they should be modified or eliminated
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
One (1) or more years' experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain, inventory management and/or maintaining complex manufacturing ERP systems
Willing and able to travel 10-20% of the time as business needs permit
