About the Job
Position Overview: This position reports to the Branch Manager and involves the direct parts planning, expediting and coordination to ensure smooth flow of goods form the supply chain through to the customer. Work closely interfacing with specific internal customer representatives (CRM), the planner will focus on planning and replenishment of inventory and other duties as defined by a scope, priority, customer or commodity specifically assigned. Mainly concentrated on In Plant Store locations, this position carries responsibility to plan, aid in planning or help in designated areas of maintaining inventory levels as directed by the Branch Manager and/or Senior Management (IPS or Non-IPS).
Essential Job Functions: Review MRP, Min/Max data to determine proper inventory levels and take appropriate actions to arrange purchasing and delivery to the end user for required materials/components and maintain proper inventory levels for all parts in scope. Work RFQ"s/P & D"s for price and availability for proper parts, quality and cost (maintain sales margin) and all designated parts within the scope of this position. In addition, employee must recognize and ensure that all proper quality codes, quality regulations and quality requirements or documentation for each individual part are formally adhered to (refer to MCC Codes, QCI2120, Rev. V). Expedite with suppliers, de-expedite with suppliers, all purchasing activities for this position require direct coordination between the Central Purchasing Division to properly notate purchase orders, actions taken and confirmations per each part number or purchase order required. Assists the Materials Manager, local branch management and sales team (CRM"s) with data analysis and customer reports or information for the purpose of formulating action plans that best suit customer requirements. Resolving day to day issues or exceptions based on best advice and consent of the branch management and/or corporate management.

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred Familiarity with all aspects of Materials Requirements Planning such as Lead Time awareness, A-B-C planning methodology, reorder point calculations, min/max development and maintenance, EOQ"s and Bills of Materials (occasionally requested to assist in building requirements plans from actual customer BOM quantities. Minimum 5+ years using MRP reports and systems required to review part/product requirements and determine appropriate planning actions, whether production planning type activities or purchasing activities. Minimum 4-6 years within a computerized purchasing and inventory system, preferably with Lot sensitivity and traceability requirements. 2-5 year experience related to Fasteners and variations of the products used within Century Fasteners Corporation
Other Skills/Abilities
Expertise in PC based software applications, mainframe or other planning utilities required for this position. Must be very proficient in MS Office and related products (Excel, Word, MS Access, MS Outlook). Some knowledge required of data extraction and refining capabilities (i.e. interpreting wide varieties of customer reports, custom database management tools (i.e. QuickBase or MS Access specifically) and requires keen skills in screening, refining and managing this data for the purpose of generating purchasing and planning requirements summaries and actions. Good multi-tasking, able to switch priorities and tasks quickly yet maintain the overall positive direction for this position and be accountable for results. Team oriented, this person has to be flexible in order to maintain all requirements of this position but also assist anywhere as directed in order to do what is best daily for the company. The individual also has to be very accountable in a complex business environment while maintaining a professional positive outlook and proper response/inter-personal communications at all times with all co-workers
