We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Material Planner to join our growing team in the Manufacturing industry. The Material Planner will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our supply chain activities. You will be responsible for the strategic planning and procurement of materials, ensuring the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations. Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategic material planning processes to ensure optimal production flow and cost-effectiveness.
2. Collaborate with the production team to forecast demand and determine supply needs.
3. Utilize ERP systems to analyze data, track inventory levels, and manage material requirements.
4. Liaise with vendors and suppliers, managing relationships and negotiating contracts to secure advantageous terms.
5. Oversee procurement processes, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials.
6. Monitor and manage inventory, implementing strategies to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
7. Participate in the continuous improvement of supply chain processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.
8. Ensure quality control standards are met in all stages of the material planning process.
9. Generate and present clear and concise reports on material planning activities and performance.
10. Stay current with industry trends and advancements, applying this knowledge to improve and innovate our material planning processes.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a material planning role in the manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience with production planning, procurement, and vendor management.
4. Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and ERP systems.
5. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms.
6. Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools.
7. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
8. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and quality control.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
10. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
11. Proactive and results-driven, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
