Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for a Material Manager at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Material Manager is an experienced professional who has demonstrated substantial acumen within a program management, finance, contract/subcontract, or analytical role. The Senior Project Manager oversees smaller fixed price projects, mid-sized cost-plus projects, or portions of a larger production program. They apply a disciplined approach to profitable project/program execution using established industry best practices, company policies, processes, and procedures.
The Material Manager will prepare and maintain management control (financial/business planning and scheduling), processes, and reporting for complex systems, programs, projects, and/or tasks. This role could provide to support to various areas, including: intercompany outsourcing, risk and opportunity management, pre-production, Change Management, Industrial Post-Delivery Availabilities, Environmental Qualification Management, Proposal Management, Class Design Services, Trade Studies, Make-Buy Business Cases, and PMO ISO Procedure Maintenance & Update.
The Material Manager is particularly adept at planning and progressing work, developing useful metrics, managing risks, contractual matters, supplier management, and meaningful reporting. In addition to these duties the Senior Project Manager may also manage small to medium proposals, ensuring completion to assigned due dates and budgets. The Senior Project Manager is able to communicate effectively and diplomatically to peer managers in the Customer Base, has poise under adversity, is a self-starter, and is able to solve difficult project management problems with minimal guidance/oversight.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Position may involve regular interaction with all levels of FMM's operations/senior staff, customers regulatory bodies, and major suppliers.
* Interfaces directly with LCS Teammates, Lockheed Martin, and the Navy.
* Collects and develops SDRL, and CDRL documents and data for submission to the prime contractor. Additonally the Program Analyst will track and manage the submissions from other departements to ensure compliance to the contract.
* Prepares miscellaneous associated reports, charts, and graphs on program, project, or contract status; makes presentations to management to keep them apprised.
* Has excellent written and verbal skills to interface with all levels of the organization through the attendance of meetings and written memos.
* Assists in preparation of a project plans that comply with the cost proposal and contract specifications.
* Provides assistance to technical/operations staff, coordinating efforts with contracts/subcontracts, corporate accounting and human resource staffs to assess impact of contract change notices, engineering change proposals, etc.
* Maintains/monitors management control requirements for designated contracts, programs, projects and/or tasks. Analyzes and reviews all cost (time, materials, and equipment) information and data to ensure all phases of the statement of work are included.
* Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVMS) principles and practices (or equivalent Cost Schedule Statusing and reporting experience), along with the significance of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) as it relates to EVMS.
* Support the assessment of financial impact of project status to budget.
* Assists in preparation of completion cost estimates (EACs), projections on funding, estimate on margins, and other planned reports.
* Monitors performance to Contracts, oversees contract compliance, and support negotiations with the customer on contract change proposals.
* May conduct risk analysis/evaluation; determine risk areas to cost or schedule, supports the development and maintenance of the risk/management plan.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelors degree and (8-10) years of experience, or a Masters degree and (5-7) years of experience. Degree requirements are to be satisfied with a degree from an accredited college or university. Experience requirements can be met by work done in the following fields: project management, engineering, operations management, administration, management control, accounting, contract/subcontract, or other analytical role.
* This requirement can also be met with an Associate's degree and at least ten (10) years of progressive responsibility in administration, management control and/or accounting of technical/professional services in the shipbuilding industry or an equivalent manufacturing industry.
* This requirement can also be met with a High School Diploma/GED and at least fifteen (15) years of progressive responsibility in administration, management control and/or accounting of technical/professional services in the shipbuilding industry or an equivalent manufacturing industry.
SKILLS:
