Job Description:
As a Warehouse Material Handler, you play a critical role in the efficient operation of our clients" warehouses. You"ll be responsible for the safe and accurate movement of materials, products, and inventory. Your contribution will be essential to meeting production targets, ensuring inventory accuracy, and maintaining a smooth workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Handling: Safely load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse using various equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. This includes efficiently moving heavy and bulky items and ensuring they are stored in the designated locations within the warehouse.
- Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of inventory and materials, including tracking incoming and outgoing shipments and performing regular cycle counts. Maintain a well-organized and systematic approach to inventory control, ensuring timely restocking and replenishment.
- Quality Control: Inspect and verify materials for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet the required specifications and standards. Identify any damaged or substandard items and report these issues to the relevant personnel.
- Order Picking and Packing: Accurately select and prepare items for shipment, following order requests and packing materials securely to prevent damage during transport. This involves using scanners and inventory management systems to ensure correct items are selected and packaged.
- Equipment Operation: Operate a range of warehouse machinery and systems, including forklifts, conveyors, and automated picking systems. Regularly inspect and maintain equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, wear appropriate protective equipment, and report any safety concerns or incidents to supervisors. Participate in safety training and actively contribute to a secure work environment.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow team members, supervisors, and warehouse management to ensure efficient and organized material movement. Engage in clear communication with team members to coordinate tasks and solve challenges.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inventory movements, including the receipt and dispatch of materials. Accurately update electronic inventory systems and contribute to the generation of reports on inventory levels and movement.
Qualifications:
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects as required, showcasing physical strength and endurance. Lift and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Forklift certification is a plus.
- Detail-Oriented: Maintain meticulous attention to detail when handling materials, ensuring accuracy and precision in inventory management.
- Safety-Minded: A strong commitment to workplace safety, with a proactive approach to risk prevention. Compliance with safety guidelines is non-negotiable.
