ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Material Handler is primarily responsible for the assembling, final quality control, labeling, boxing, and shipping of orders. This is a fast-paced, micro-manufacturing environment, as multiple orders are received and processed daily. The Material Handler will be expected to work quickly and efficiently with an eye for detail. All job functions will relate to the production of consumer orders.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Minimum 1 year proven experience in stocking, parts inventory, pull and pack, or shipping
- Experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate or similar position a plus
- Active position which requires standing, walking, moving, bending, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to work well with hands
- Proficiency using computers, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
- Customer service focused and professional attitude
- Ability to solve problems, prioritize, and take direction
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Work under limited supervision
- Flexible and be open to change
- Goal oriented and able to organize time and workload
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level attention to detail
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Bin Prep, Assemble, Final Quality Control, Label, and Package orders according to workflow assignment, customer specifications, and established company guidelines
- Team daily target goals and individual performance times must be met or exceeded
- Perform detailed quality control checks on orders and shipments
- Stage materials at Assembly workstations
- Complete Display, Kit, and Pull & Pack orders
- Inspect inventory to meet product specifications and company standards
- Daily point of contact for FedEx shipments, issues, or delays
- Order shipping supplies
- Ensure customer orders are shipped by expected ship dates
- Compliance with standard operating procedures to perform the functions of the job
- Perform shipping area daily shutdown procedures
- Gain full knowledge of functions of the automated Fulfillment system to perform daily tasks
- Cross-functional Production work may be assigned as needed
- Advise Production Lead/Supervisor/Manager of equipment issues, work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to orders
- Represent department and the organization favorably and in accordance with Company standards and associate attributes at all times
- Other duties as assigned by management
