Position Description

As part of our Material Handler team, you'll work on cutting-edge equipment, collaborate across departments, and lead the way in cost reduction, optimizing manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving Shipments: Unload incoming shipments from vendor vehicles using a forklift. Receive incoming shipments of materials, products, and supplies. Verify the accuracy of shipments by confirming quantity, reviewing packing lists, and performing quality checks. Report any damages to products.
- Material Management: Load and unload material onto high pile storage racking while operating equipment and utilizing radio frequency (RF) Scanners. Expected to multi task while performing cycle counts, bin audits, and inventory management strategies.
- Material Fulfillment: Issue raw materials to manufacturing. Counting materials by hand or with a counting scale. Label and package items for storage for material fulfillment following established procedures.
- Abide by Safety Protocols: Follow proper safety protocols while handling materials and operating equipment.
- General Computer Skills: General knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications. The use of other computer software such as Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing – Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP ERP). Excel and Word will be used to create and manage reports and to keep records.
- Communication: Communicate with team members to ensure operational effectiveness. The use of Outlook to communicate with interdepartmental teams.
- Abide by Quality Standards: Understand and follow Applied Medical’s Quality Systems.
Performance Objectives:
Within your first 30 days:
- Ongoing completion scheduled Applied Learning foundational courses with a passing grade of 95% or above, demonstrating rapid integration into company processes.
- Become familiar with the warehouse, including receiving, picking, and processing areas.
- Receive training on the basis responsibilities of the department roles through hands on training and shadowing experienced team members.
- Begin training on forklifts as the role requires.
Within 60 days:
- Comfortably use SAP, RF Scanners, and required equipment to fulfill material requests.
- Begin to execute tasks more independently and resolving issues with less guidance.
- Complete training on forklifts as the role requires.
Within 90 days to 1 year:
- Confidently use all related equipment and software to fulfill material requests
- Execute tasks independently and resolve issues with little to no guidance.
- Have a well-rounded understanding of all working areas of the receiving, picking, and processing areas.
Position Requirements
- High school graduate, General Education Development (GED), or work equivalent.
- Flexibility to work on 1st and 2nd shift within our Applied Medical, Irvine warehouse facility.
- Ability to stand and work continuously for several hours at a time.
- Self-sufficiency in completing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Capability to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.
- Capacity to cooperate effectively in a team environment.
- Read, write, and speak English.
Preferred
- Experience with warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Experience with general computer software.
- Experience in operating forklifts.
