About the Job
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurately handle transactions and physical movement of material in and out of the stockroom
- Responsible for accurate inventory level management
- Responsible for maintaining cycle counts and a clean warehouse
- Accurately kit all work orders
- Assist in all WIP movement and transactions
- May assist with shipping/receiving/packaging as needed
- May drive company truck and/or forklift
- May perform other duties as required
- Attendance is an essential duty of this position
- Forklift Certification, Valid Driver License, and the use of Power tools are not required for all Material Handlers.
- The percentage of time at each task fluctuates with the workload.
- Cross-training and fluid transition between departments is essential for competitive advantage.
- Material handler II must be proficient with all level 1 tasks within 90 days of the date of hire.
- Many tasks require On Job Training.
- Four codes relate to unique skill sets and Material Handler II works under Material Handler III guidance as required in each function.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be proficient able to perform responsibilities and duties of Material handler I
- Basic understanding of Excel files (enter data in preset forms and save properly)
- Maintain and store files effectively
- Create new locations in the ERP system
- Process and print barcode labels
- Maintain Data in KPI
- Fill out complex forms in ERP system such as NCM
- Use various tools to research inventory discrepancies
- Use problem-solving skills to find lost inventory
- Reorganize inventory storage for maximum fit and distribution
- Use Carrier related software and prepare BOL
- Use Hand Trucks, Pallet Jacks, and Scales safely and effectively
- The repetitive motion of twisting and bending
Educational/Certification Requirement:
- High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) preferred
- Forklift Certification as Required
- Valid Driver’s License as Required
Experience Requirement:
Work Experience:
- 2+ years of experience related to the use of computer and ERP systems bar-coded software is highly desired. Two years of experience in any type of material distribution environment is desired.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for sustained periods of time.
Ability to move arms, hands, and fingers. - Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
Ability to lift over 45 lbs. with assistance - Ability to sit for sustained periods of time.
- The ability to talk on the phone and use a computer for extended periods of time may be required.
