About the Job
Position Overview:
The Material Handler will work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and will be responsible for the receipt, storage and overall distributions of components, chemicals and finished goods to internal and external customers. The Material Handler will work with Procurement, Manufacturing Services and Finance to accurately track, record and maintain inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete all mandatory training within 90 Days
Operates with Good Warehouse Practices
Perform all work in adherence to the department area’s Standard Operating Procedures
Accurately Verify Part Numbers, Lot Numbers, Quantity and Expiration date
Ensure Product is stored in the recommended storage conditions
Ensure Material movement from location to location is accurate physically and systematically.
Ensure all materials are labeled appropriately and within compliance of our quality Standards.
Accurately Pick, Pack, and/or Stage materials for Work Orders and Sales Orders
Accurately count inventory
Accurately perform System Transactions for Receiving, Staging, and Shipping Functions which include but are not limited to Purchase Order Receipts, cycle count, inventory transfers, work order component issue, shipment confirmations.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Working Conditions:
Movement in and out of Various Temperature Controlled Area: Refrigeration (2-8°c), Freezer (-20°c) and Room Temperature
Performs work of a highly repetitive nature.
Constant movement for long durations which include and not limited to: Walking, Standing, Reaching, Lifting, Pushing, Pulling and Kneeling.
May handle “packaged” hazardous materials.
Moderate to High Noise Level from Conveyors, Forklifts, Trucks, and Pallet Jacks.
Must be available to work any shift (with advance notice of shift change).
Must be flexible to work in other areas of warehouse or site, and work overtime as needed.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs or more
Safety:
Complying with all company safety regulations and procedures and report non-compliance.
Serving as an effective safety steward by ensuring accurate reporting of near misses and attending safety trainings.
Operating a safe work environment through continuous safety awareness and full compliance to all EHS programs and activities.
Maintain compliance to PPE requirements
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Consistently demonstrates positive and productive results
Interacts equally well with all employees utilizing strong interpersonal skills
Follows written and verbal instructions accurately and efficiently
Personable, and exhibits a can-do positive attitude with a willingness to learn
Understand the sense of urgency
Computer skills are required with the ability to learn and retain new computer programs
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using warehouse equipment such as Forklift and Pallet Jacks
Experience with QAD
Experience with Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
