TOPS Staffing is searching for several Fork Lift Drivers for a growing client who is building a brand new facility in Petersburg, VA.
This job is going to be operating a larger forklift, currently the lifts we have onsite are 33,000lbs lifts. Ideally we are looking for candidates who have operated similar sized mobile material handling equipment, or excavating equipment.
Main purpose of this position is to load and unload incoming and outgoing flatbed trailers.

Contract to Hire
Location: Petersburg, VA
Hours: Daylight shift – 7am to 3:30pm – Monday to Friday schedule; some overtime may be required in this position
Pay: Starting at $17 while on the contract to hire with TOPS (90 day contract to hire). Once hired on by our client you will join the company profit sharing program and with the profit sharing factored into your hourly rate you can expect to be making between $20 to $23per hour on average + company benefits, and end of year bonus.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operate larger scale forklift – Lifting capacity of 33,000lbs.
- Unload flatbed trucks coming into facility.
- Load outgoing trucks with finished products.
- Help move material through all phases of production process.
- In most cases you will be moving either steel pipe, steel I-beams or plate steel sheets of various lengths and sizes.
Education and Experience:
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Prior experience operating large scale forklift or similar piece of mobile lifting equipment.
Physical requirements:
- Some light lifting, pushing, pulling to maneuver items
- Job requires working outside. Combination of working inside the building and pulling materials from our laydown yard which is outside.
