Hours: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
How you will make an impact:
The Material Handler/Coordinator will complete line inventory of units running and component part status. Also, safely operate forklift/straddle lift within areas of the facility.
The Nuts and Bolts:
- Complete daily forklift/straddle lift inspection sheet.
- Utilize transaction control sheet.
- Ability to perform weekly inventory cycle counts.
- Use Banding Equipment.
- Properly identify part numbers.
- Ability to read instructions/prints to decipher unmarked parts/materials.
- Complete Line inventory evaluation form of units running & component part status
- Provide a copy of form to line leads & supervisors by 30 minutes after start of shift
- Submit orders for required components to materials, or self-supply
- Put away components to proper areas after delivered to drop zone
- Alert leads and supervisors of material issues as feedback is received
- Monitor scrap and trash hoppers for dumping- dump as required
- Monitor online substitutions, assuring items are documented on Substitution Forms and material restocked
- Monitor completion of requested parts deliveries from materials- follow up on delayed deliveries
- Evaluate inventory availability of high-level items and chassis required in newly printed books to determine ability to release books to the line.
- Communicate issues preventing releasing books to purchasing
- Deliver released books to line Supervisor
- Line Supervisor will communicate run sequence of new books- deliver books and build packets to all areas.
- Alert traffic as to which chassis will be coming up on the schedule so chassis can be pulled.
- Notify materials and/or Print material pick sheets for all released books so Materials can issue items.
- Perform task within allotted RE time.
- Flex within functional areas as needed.
- Assist with on-the-job training of team members.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
Required Credentials:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must possess above average computer skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- JDE experience is a plus.
- Understanding of functional aspects of Warehouse and Materials Management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical skills.
- Strong ability to multi-task with excellent attention to detail.
- Prior forklift experience preferred. (Morgan will certify)
- Must safely operate forklift/straddle lift within areas of the facility.
- Must comply with truck and trailer safety policies within the work area and throughout the company.
- Must be ability to read a tape measurer.
- Understand and comprehend measurements and have the ability to apply based on instruction.
- Ability to read and/or interpret work orders and apply to task at hand.
- Must be able to safely perform the following:
- Door Rack change out
- Must properly handle all products/parts to include, but not limited, to customer units including flat-bed carry out, FRP's, and hazardous materials.
- Must fully understand quality policies and have minimum or zero defects per unit.
- Work required schedule including overtime.
- Work with little or no supervision.
- Must actively participate and support Poindexter Production System (PPS); 5's, Lean, TPM, and other Continuous Improvement Activities.

This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to stand (sometimes for extended periods); walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and lift up to 35 pounds. The team member may, at times, sit, bend, stoop, squat, reach overhead, or crawl (may be in confined spaces). The team member is expected to perform repetitive tasks using their hands and have the ability to climb ladders and/or work in high places.
