Material Handler - Textum

Textum OPCO, LLC is seeking a Material Handler to join our team at our Belmont, NC composite manufacturing operation.

At Textum, we specialize in developing innovative fabric and multi-dimensional preform solutions for our customers, serving industries such as aerospace, space, defense, energy, and infrastructure. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout our production process.

This position requires attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in material handling and be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is a full-time position with first shift hours. Pay Rate Starts at $15.00/hr

Duties and Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to the following:

Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with company policy.

Lifts and carries materials and equipment throughout work areas using appropriate material handling equipment.

• 90% manual movement of materials
• 10% use of forklifts

Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner to include returning tools to designated areas.

Performs assigned responsibilities such as operating equipment and general maintenance.

Collects, weighs and records manufacturing waste.

Adheres to all company policies and procedures, paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures.

Certified to operate a fork lift. (Textum will train)

Taking the finished rolls of cloth off of the machines and palletizing them for shipment

Putting new packages on the creel and air splicing them to the old package. Also placing new bobbins on the creel stands and air splicing them to the old bobbins.

Responsible for cleaning assigned, machines and removing and installing new warp beams as needed.

Responsible for vacuuming the looms and surroundings as well as sweeping floors. Emptying trash cans.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in material handling
• Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
