Base Pay: $19.00 per hour
Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Friday (weekends based on business need)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cornerstone Building Brands, a leader in exterior building solutions, seeks a dedicated Material Handler Level 2 to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient movement and processing of materials, contributing to our commitment to excellence. REQUIREMENTS
- Comply with all appropriate policies and procedures to maintain training, safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Demonstrate the ability to accurately process paperwork and adapt to dynamic work demands.
- Exhibit proficiency in cross-training across multiple areas while maintaining a high level of quality.
- Accurately receive, inspect, and process inbound materials, ensuring proper handling of overages, shortages, and damages.
- Efficiently and accurately pick customer orders for shipment, ensuring the correct products are selected.
- Transfer and locate materials to designated storage or shipping areas.
- Verify quantity, quality, labeling, and addresses to ensure outgoing shipments are complete and accurate.
ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTION EXPECTATIONS
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and the ability to navigate basic functions.
- Attention to detail and the ability to identify errors or variances in documentation.
- Ability to operate efficiently without compromising quality.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
- Adaptability to learn and utilize various ERP systems.
- Proficiency in email communication, scheduling, and document management using Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability to create basic spreadsheets and enter data effectively using Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Word as needed.
- Skill in capturing and managing screenshots using the Snipping Tool.
- Ability to upload, save, and rename photos as required.
- Proficiency in maintaining organized filing systems and scanning documents.
- Effective communication with office personnel while maintaining a respectful work environment.
- DOCK FUNCTION EXPECTATIONS
- Ability to operate a forklift (sit-down preferred).
- Ability to work in a hot environment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to read packing slips and match paperwork to received materials.
- Ability to palletize and shrink-wrap materials.
- Efficient documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate via walkie-talkie to coordinate incoming requests.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and visually presentable work environment.
- High School Diploma or GED to ensure ability to accurately complete basic math calculations, read and understand training documents, product labeling and warehouse signage written in English.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to fast changing work demand.
- Self-motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced positive team-oriented environment, coupled with good multi-tasking skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft office products, general computer skills and RF scanners. Ability to comprehend and execute standard problem-solving skills and effectively communicate verbally and written.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs., and/or more with assistance. Able to bend, reach, stoop, climb, stand and walk for entire shift of 8 hours or more.
- Operate various types of material handling equipment including but not limited to forklifts, hand tools and other devices operated in a warehouse environment while maintaining the highest level of productivity and accuracy.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to complete assigned tasks.
