Ardurra seeks a Senior Project Manager looking for a leadership role in a growing organization that values its people and has exciting clients. Primary Function:
The Senior Project Manager will assist with planning, directing, and overseeing Water / Wastewater / Recycled Water Planning projects, primarily within Ardurra’s Southwest Practice. Working closely with the Group Leader, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for technical oversight, supporting business development, proposal development, project management, and oversight of group personnel and resources. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build and develop our local group while providing exceptional client service. Your management services will help to ensure that projects are delivered on budget and schedule. Your technical expertise will serve to develop effective solutions and to ensure the technical and quality aspects meet client expectations and industry standards. In addition to your project responsibilities, you will provide advice, mentoring to and support career development of other engineers. Excellent leadership, project and people management and written/verbal communication skills are all critical to success.
The ideal candidate will have strong Seller / Do-er experience, a well-rounded background or proven skills in master planning and hydraulic analyses to support highly technical staff on water / wastewater / recycled water planning projects. The candidate will also have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Primary Duties:
- Plan, schedule, and track milestones, tasks, and activities
- Support development of hydraulic models, conduct hydraulic analysis, and document results in reports or technical memoranda.
- Perform research and analytical tasks related for water, recycled water, and wastewater masterplans, urban water management plans, asset management plans, water supply assessments, risk assessments, flow monitoring reports, etc.
- Attend meetings to discuss project progress and results.
- Actively managing assigned projects.
- Assist with business development activities.
- Archive final deliverable documents – reports, models, and associated tools.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience in water and wastewater master planning tasks related to but not limited to: sewer I/I analysis, flow factor development and projections, business risk calculations, alternative analysis, cost estimations, alternatives scenario analysis, fire flow analysis etc.
- Experience with hydraulic modeling tools such as Autodesk modeling products including but not limited to: InfoWater, InfoWater Pro, InfoSWMM, InfoSewer, Aquanuity or Bentley products like WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, and SewerCAD or other equivalent software. (Experience with other modeling tools will be considered.)
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro and integration with Innovyze / Autodesk software.
- Excellent technical writing skills for use in development of master plans, studies, engineering reports, and related technical documents.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly self-motivated, able to anticipate and initiate subsequent project tasks, working independently or with minimal instruction.
- Able to work efficiently within a predetermined project budget and schedule.
- A writing sample of or link to previous work is encouraged.
- Experience with data analysis software like R, Tableau, Power BI, etc. and scripting languages like SQL, Python, etc. is desirable but not required.
- Experience with Asset Management software like InfoAsset Planner is desirable but not required.
Project Delivery
- Serve as Project Manager for water/wastewater/recycled water master planning projects.
- Oversee staff for various and ongoing project assignments.
- Execute multiple concurrent assignments efficiently.
- Perform or lead teams to provide project management services.
- Effectively apply industry standards as well as client standards and requirements.
- Work with project teams to coordinate and prioritize project requirements, which may require meetings with clients and subconsultants.
- Ability to manage project requirements and client expectations.
Leadership Qualifications:
- Skilled leader capable of inspiring, motivating, and holding team accountable for delivery and client satisfaction.
- Team player capable of building relationships both internally and externally, and naturally able to put the team success ahead of their own.
- Effective project manager capable of delivering projects on schedule and on budget.
- Great communicator in both oral and written communications.
- Capable of building consensus and cooperation with staff at all skill levels.
- Previous experience delivering studies, reports, master plans, and related technical documents.
- Planning and evaluation of water/wastewater/recycled water conveyance infrastructure.
Supervise and Mentor Professionals
- Mentor developing professionals to guide their career development objectives.
- Provide technical guidance on project approach and challenges.
- Perform on technically complex projects and act as a technical resource by providing guidance to other team members.
- Recognize when technical problems develop and initiate guidance for corrective actions.
- Conduct work in a safe manner and promote health and safety within the office and outside of the office while visiting clients and job sites.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent. Equivalent modeling and master planning project experience with another STEM degree will be considered.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in California.
Comp range: $180,000 to $220,000/year (DOE)
