Job Details
The Master Scheduler/Planner will develop and maintain production schedules to support steel fabrication and erection projects. This role ensures efficient utilization of resources, alignment with project timelines, and seamless coordination across departments. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing or construction scheduling, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with scheduling tools.
Key Responsibilities
Production Scheduling
Develop, maintain, and adjust the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to meet project deadlines and customer requirements.
Coordinate with project managers, production supervisors, and engineering teams to align schedules with project milestones.
Capacity and Resource Planning
Evaluate production capacity, labor availability, and equipment usage to create realistic schedules.
Identify and resolve bottlenecks or constraints impacting production timelines.
Material Coordination
Ensure raw materials and components are available for fabrication by working closely with procurement and inventory teams.
Monitor material lead times and adjust schedules as needed.
Monitor Progress and Reporting
Track production activities to ensure adherence to schedules and address delays or disruptions proactively.
Generate and present reports on schedule performance, resource utilization, and potential risks.
Collaboration and Communication
Act as the central point of contact for all scheduling-related activities, ensuring clear communication between departments.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3-5 years of experience in production scheduling, preferably in steel fabrication, construction, or a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools) and ERP/MRP systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
Knowledge of fabrication and erection processes is a strong plus.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
