(Required) Demonstrated exceptional professional writing and editing, including experience in writing digital communications and marketing materials that are accurate, creative, and results-focused. (Required) Strong project management experience and success working on multiple projects simultaneously, and ability to provide accurate deliverables by deadlines. (Required) Experience defining, developing, producing, and achieving strategic goals with digital and traditional communications and marketing campaigns. (Required) Demonstrated experience in dealing with confidential and sensitive information with tact and discretion. (Required) Demonstrated experience working independently, efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. (Required) Experience meeting tight writing deadlines and providing project deliverables on-time, without sacrificing superior writing, grammar or syntax, or commensurate level of experience. (Required) Working knowledge of marketing mediums and best practices. (Required) Working knowledge of communication principles, media, marketing and social media best practices. (Required) Demonstrated knowledge of current AP style. (Required) Demonstrated problem-solving skills, ability to analyze and interpret information and situations, and propose alternative solutions. (Required) Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, faculty, senior university administrators, donors, and volunteers. (Required) Proficiency in web content programs and knowledge of social media best practices. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word and Excel. (Required) Must be organized, professional, inclusive, respectful, and collegial at all times. (Required) The individual must understand and actively support the School's values and mission, including equity, diversity and inclusion. (Required) Must be willing to work as-needed for events that may take place in the evening and/or weekends. (Required) Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and supervise visual projects such as videography and photography. (Preferred) Knowledge/familiarity and interest with disciplines in the field of public health. (Preferred) Education, Licenses, Certifications, & Professional Affiliations:Master's Degree in communications, media, journalism or related field. The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications plays a key role in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health’s Marketing and Communications team. The incumbent will work to increase the profile of the school through strategic events management, as well as conception, production, and deployment of marketing and communications collateral and campaigns across digital and traditional platforms.
Salary & Compensation:*UCLA provides a full pay range.
